The Sincor Coke and Sulfur Handling Facility in Jose,
Venezuela is designed to handle 2.4 million tons per year of petroleum
coke and 380,00 tons per year of either molten or solid sulfur.
One feature of the project is the dual orbiting slewing shiploader
operating at a nominal rate of 2,000 tph per unit. This unique
shiploader is the first of its kind in the world.
NAFCO provided the detailing, fabrication, and delivery of the
structural steel to Corpus Christi, Texas for Metso Minerals
(formerly Svedala Industries), wherein Intermarine provided overseas
transport of the shiploading components. The tubular
structures encapsulate both the boom and orbit bridge conveyors and
walkways to reduce the possibility of spillage and dusting of the
products.
