Oak Creek Power Plant Expansion

 
 
   

Wisconsin Energy Corp. is adding two advanced-technology, coal-fueled generating units to its Oak Creek Power Plant.

NAFCO is currently working on the coal material handling system for the Oak Creek Power Plant Expansion for Roberts & Schaefer Company who is directly subcontracted by Bechtel Corporation. NAFCO has shipped approximately 5,000,000 pounds of the estimated 7,500,000 pounds of conveyor support steel for the project.

Manufacturing will continue for deliveries through July 2007.

Each unit will generate approximately 615 megawatts of electricity
(1,230 MW total)

 
    Construction Began in June 2005  
    In Service First unit in 2009; second in 2010  
    Total Cost $2.2 Billion
