Painting

The final production step is painting. At this step of the
process, the three bays are recombined into a single paint area. The entire Cullman manufacturing facility is
insulated and heated, not only for the comfort of the craftsmen, but
also for
temperature control of the fabricated steel during the application of
coatings. After welding, all steel either passes through an
eight-wheeled blast machine or enters a 24x22x70 air-controlled blast
room for surface preparation. Fabricated steel is then transferred
by crane to the 48,000 square foot paint area for the specified coating
application. For over 25 years NAFCO has specialized in multi-coat
paint systems for industrial projects.
